Dental Cleanings & Exams in Lynwood, CA

Family | Dental Cleanings LAAt PhD Dental, we are delighted to see patients of all ages. Whether your little one just sprouted a new baby tooth or you have an elderly parent with unique concerns, we are here to serve you.

As general dentists in LA, Inglewood, Lynwood, and Pico Rivera, our job is to oversee all your oral health needs. We perform all services from routine dental exams and cleanings to advanced tooth replacement with dental implants.

We genuinely enjoy getting to know new patients and building relationships that last a lifetime. Providing you with excellent oral health care is our priority. But we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how caring our team is and how we go out of our way to make every visit with us pleasant and stress-free.

Our mission at PhD Dental is simple: To treat you as we would wish to be treated – with honesty, respect, and genuine concern for your needs.

How Often Do I Need a Dental Exam and Cleaning?

If your teeth and gums are generally healthy and you have no ongoing dental concerns, visits for exams and dental cleanings every six months are usually enough to maintain a problem-free smile. However, if you have gum disease or other conditions we need to monitor, we might need to see you three or even four times a year.

What Happens during a Dental Exam?

Our doctors perform comprehensive dental exams that include:

  • Visually checking the condition of your teeth
  • Noting areas of concern or changes since your last visit
  • Examining the health of your gums
  • Taking digital x-rays as necessary
  • Performing an oral cancer screening

If we find problems that we need to address, we’ll explain what they are and how treatment will benefit you. In dentistry, it’s always better to treat problems early. Putting off treatment lets conditions worsen to the point where you may face discomfort and the need for more complex procedures to correct.

What Services Are Included in General Dentistry?

Dentist | Dental Cleanings Lynwood Ca PhD Dental is a full-service, comprehensive dental practice. Not only do we have experienced general dentists to serve you, but we also have periodontists and orthodontists on staff, so we rarely have to refer patients for treatment. Some of the services we provide are:

Are Dental X-Rays Safe?

Your safety is of tremendous importance to us, and we understand the concerns that you may have about too many x-rays. But dental x-rays are an invaluable tool because they let us view what’s happening inside your tooth and under your gums where most problems begin.

At PhD Dental, we use state-of-the-art digital x-rays that reduce your exposure to radiation by as much as 70 percent compared to film x-rays. We never take unnecessary x-rays and will always explain why we recommend them and how they will help us provide you with appropriate treatment.

Please Call Us to Schedule an Appointment

Samantha C.

"PhD Dental is somewhere that I recommend highly. First of all, Dr. Bina is one of the most sweet, caring, and intelligent dentists that I have ever encountered. He knows his job and he is the best. My whole family comes here and I have three young kids that have all had very positive experiences. He’s not out to get your money. He’s so honest and I would never change to another dentist. I have referred several people to him and all have come back very very happy."

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — at PhD Dental we are accepting new patients at all of our Southern California locations: Los Angeles, Inglewood, Lynwood, Pico Rivera, Compton, Boyle Heights, Westchester, Norwalk. Whether you’re looking for a first-time adult exam or need care for your whole family, we welcome you. Our new-patient process is streamlined: you can book online or call, fill out new-patient forms ahead of time, and we’ll review your history, insurance, and treatment options during your visit. Let us help you make your first appointment comfortable and efficient.

Costs for a dental cleaning without insurance can vary depending on your location, the condition of your teeth and gums, and whether any additional services are required. At PhD Dental, we aim to provide transparent pricing and offer options to help with cost (including financing and in-house plans). We recommend scheduling an exam first so we can assess your needs, discuss cost and options, and tailor a plan that fits your budget. Contact our office for current pricing at your preferred location.

At PhD Dental, we generally recommend patients have a professional exam and cleaning every six months (twice a year) as a baseline. This interval allows us to catch early signs of cavities, gum disease or other issues when they’re most manageable. Of course, depending on your individual health — your gum condition, past history, lifestyle, medical issues — we may advise more frequent visits (for example every 3–4 months). We’ll discuss your ideal schedule during your first visit.

Yes! All PhD Dental locations are currently accepting new patients. We make it easy to book online or by phone, and same-week appointments are often available. If you’re new to the area or haven’t seen a dentist in years, we’ll help you start fresh — with a gentle cleaning, exam, and personalized plan.

Your first visit usually includes a thorough exam, X-rays if needed, and a professional cleaning. We’ll review your medical and dental history, talk about your goals, and answer all your questions. Most patients tell us their first visit feels surprisingly easy and comfortable.
